SYNOPSIS
Set in the near future, the
series revolves around the super-charged battling adventures of a
group of kids and their unique, high performance pet robots (a.k.a.
Medabots). Fueled with artificial intelligence and a specialized
arsenal of unique weapons, Medabots compete against each other in
exciting Robattles, with the winners acquiring Medaparts from the
defeated Medabot. In this high-tech world, every kid hopes the
successful outcome of their playground challenges and backyard
Robattles will give them the opportunity to represent their country
at the World Robattle Tournament held every four years.
Medabots follows the adventures of 10-year-old Ikki, who has
had a keen interest in Medabot culture since before he can remember.
He knows everything there is to know about Medabots and Robattles,
but he hasn't actually participated in this exciting world, because
he doesn't yet have a Medabot of his own. Finding a mysterious Rare
Medal (a Medabot's soul and brain) and scraping together enough money
to buy an older model Medabot, Ikki is finally on his way to fulfilling
his lifelong dream of becoming a top-ranked Medafighter. Standing in his
way are The Screws, a gang of less-than-friendly classmates, and the
Rubberobo Gang, a group of black-outfitted criminals trying to get their
hands on Ikki's Medabot, Metabee, for reasons which for now must remain secret.
